As the mechanical captain of Dartmouth Formula Racing, a student run racing team competing in Formula Hybrid, I have to deal with a lot of engineering and design challenges. One of these challenges was to work with the car's existing architecture to create a new drivetrain for the 2019 competition. Pictured below is some of the analysis that went into the redesigned drivetrain. The 2020 drivetrain designed for a completely new chassis and powertrain is also pictured below.
